The Square Tech Training Program is a paid internship that recruits Boston area youth between ages of 14 - 19 while providing training in technology and business focused workshops. This tech-based youth program engineers a foundation of learning and developing skills through a series of technology and business based training workshops. 

Meet the staff

Irene has been employed at CSTO for over 15 years. Irene is certified in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint , A+/Net+ certification, CTT certificate which is the international board of standards for training performance and instruction (IBSTPI) core competencies for technical trainers and certificate for software application specialist. She is also certified through the BEST Initiative run by Health Resources in Action. 

 

She has become an innovative senior manager of the Square Tech Training Program. Her passion is to mentor youth and to inspire the passion for community service and to educate them on the use of technology to improve access, promote opportunity and engage learners is the way forward for relevant 21st century learning.

Letissa has been with the Square Tech program for over 7 years. She graduated from Bunker Hill Community College with an Associate Degree in Computer Networking and Administration in May of 2016.

 

Letissia now teaches what she learned. She teaches teens Computer Networking, App Inventor, Scratch along with Makey Makey and Raspberry Pi and help’s Square Tech with all computers and no-computer issues.

Phu received his Associates in Science in 2013 from Bunker Hill Community College. He also received his certification by CompTIA. He has been employed with CSTO since late 2012 and has contributed too many milestones achieved in both the program and business sides of Square Tech. 

 

Phu values education as one of his top priorities and that is due to the fact that as technology evolves it will continually become more intimate with our everyday lives. Phu understands this increasing demand for computer literacy and helps provide that opportunity for youth by teaching the PC Hardware and Web Design workshops in Square Tech's IT Programs. His goals are not only to educate teens in a safe and welcoming educational environment but also help supply the community of Boston with affordable technology and tech support.

Cary started volunteering at Square Tech during high school working alongside with college students serving the community. After graduation, he went to UMass Boston where he graduated in 2019 with his Bachelor degree in  Information Technology.

 

While going to school, he became a staff of Square Tech and helped with planning and transitioning to Square Tech’s new location. Cary also developed and teaches Computer Science topics for the Square Tech training program.

He also oversees the networking info structure of CSTO.
